AssurancePlanning(PAP4CDS5.0)andtheQualitySystemRequirements(ISO/TS-16949)
manuals.ASupplier’scertificationtoTS-16949aloneisnotsufficienttopassPSO.AllPSO
requirementsshallbemetforPSOapproval.ThePSO,TS-16949andPAPmanualswill
formthefoundationforSupplierreadinesstoassureproactiveAdvancedProductQuality
Planning.Wheretheword“Supplier”isusedinthismanual,itisintendedtoindicateboth
externalandinternalSuppliers.Toassureconformancetodimensional,material,
functional,and(whererequired)appearancerequirementofapart,itisimportantto
understandtherelationshipbetweenPSOandtheProductionPartApprovalProcess.It
shouldbenotedthateveryexternalSupplierofproductionpartstoDaimlerChryslershall
beISO/TS-16949:2002thirdpartyregistered.EffectiveApril15,2005,allrequirements
statedinthisdocumentapplytoallproductionSuppliers,includingtheirsub-tier
SuppliersdirectedbyDaimlerChrysler.
Inordertoachieveanappreciableimprovementinpartqualitythismanualhasbeen
modifiedtoreflectDaimlerChryslerCorporation’scurrentPSOphilosophyandemphasize
theimportanceofadheringtoourProductCreationProcess,calledChryslerDevelopment
System(CDS).Thismanualshouldbereviewedcarefullyandinitsentiretytoassurethat
allthePSOrequirementsareknownandunderstood.Thetwenty-twoPSOProcess
ElementsidentifiedinthePSO4thEdition,wererevaluatedandinsomecasesexpanded
intoseparateelements.Inaddition,theContinuingConformanceSectionwasadded
whichexplainstheLayerProcessLayer(LPA)and“Forever”requirementsforall
organizationssupplyingcomponentstoDaimlerChrysler.
Thenames“Chrysler”and“DaimlerChrysler”asusedinthismanualreferto
DaimlerChryslerCorporation(formerlyknownasChryslerCorporation)andits
subsidiaries,whichmanufactureChrysler,DodgeandJeep®brandvehicles.Thismanual
doesnotapplytootherDaimlerChryslerAGsubsidiariesoroperations,whichmanufacture
Mercedes-Benz,Freightlinerorotherbrandvehiclesorproducts.
